Meet the artist behind the brush

Hi, I'm Abbey Hardwick, a freelance makeup artist based in Sydney. I hold a Certificate III from TAFE NSW as well as a diploma in makeup from Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), giving me a strong technical foundation across beauty, fashion, and screen makeup.

From inspired editorial looks at Australian Fashion Week to natural everyday glam, my approach blends technical skill with genuine care, I believe my role is to celebrate what makes you uniquely you, creating looks that feel authentic, empowering, and effortlessly beautiful. With a kit built on high-quality products and a commitment to impeccable hygiene, I work with all skin tones and types to deliver flawless, long-lasting results - on camera or up close.

I bring specialized experience from the unique demands of fashion, bridal, retail and commercial makeup. TV lighting, HD cameras, constant retakes and working to tight deadlines leaves no room for error. Makeup has to hold up under hot studio lights, look seamless in extreme close-up and stay camera-ready take after take. I work efficiently on set, collaborate closely with directors, DP’s and production teams and adapt quickly to last minute changes - all while keeping my clients comfortable.
